![]() We also have two indoor cameras that I use to keep an eye on my kids when they are home alone (I've got one who likes to sneak treats out of me room, lol) and to cover stuff when we are out of town. Can't get it to stop picking up the stray cat that strolls through our yard every night but its not so troublesome that I would switch to some other camera to avoid it. It takes a little bit of playing around to get it so that it doesnt pick up every car that drives down our street so it was very annoying at first but now it does pretty well. IDK how to add pictures here but if someone tells me I can post pics from my video feed. We have it on our garage after we had a car stolen out of our driveway and then my car was broken into while it was sitting in the driveway. I have the Wyze Cam v3 and I added the motion light. It hasn't bothered me enough to adjust any settings though. The only negatives are that I've had some false alerts when the wind is really whipping around my potted lemon tree (but I could fix that in the app if I was less lazy) and there have been a few times it hasn't picked up motion that was very quick (like a delivery person tossing a package on my porch). Bonus is that it has a microphone, a speaker, and an alarm, so you can speak to people through it and also set off an alarm from your phone if you want. There are different options for what kind of motion to look for (ie people vs pets) and you can also use the app to manually set the area you want it to pay attention to. Mine is only set to record when it senses motion. Continuous recording is an option, but I haven't used it, so you'd have to do some research here if that's what you want. It stores feeds on an SD card (included but can be switched out) that you can watch on your app (via wifi), or I think you can buy a cloud subscription if you want more space (or maybe even monitoring?) You can also download videos on your phone if you want. The video quality can be set to 1080p or 2k HD and I think the cost came in somewhere around $130ish. I live in central Virginia and we've gotten some snow and wind with no issues, but nothing quite like what y'all get the northeast, so I can't speak to that. ![]() My model (there are many!) has a built-in motion spotlight that can be turned on or off with the free app. I have a Eufy outdoor camera that I got around Christmas and I've been really pleased with it so far. ![]()
